Kink Tank [myspace] [facebook] Kink Tank is a sex-positive/sex-radical discussion, reading, viewing, and knowledge-sharing/skillshare group. We're interested in approaching sex, sexuality, and sexual content (i.e. porn, erotica, etc.) in an open yet critical way as well as creating a safe, respectful, healthy, all-inclusive environment that discusses and analyzes sexuality and sexual expression with a queer and feminist discourse in mind. We are seeking to be a non-judgmental group that is defined or shaped by its participants. It can look like whatever we want it to be, from serious analysis to good old fashion F-U-N (and likely lots of overlap). We come from a sense of urgency felt around embracing sexuality in a society where one is encultured to feel shame and guilt in what satisfies or interests one sexually. Discussions may vary from asking the question: “what is sexuality and why,” to an analysis of the differences between indie versus DIY versus realcore porn, to learning and knowledge-sharing about Radical Consent models. Topics can and should be proposed and determined by participants. Kink Tank is a support group of sorts created to dispel taboo and love our bodies, ourselves, and each other. Yay for consensual sexuality!!!

Please check the Free school website, or the Kink Tank myspace page at www.myspace.com/kinktankdenver for the topic for each week's class. Please note that Kink Tank is a Safer Space; due to the nature of some discussion topics, and what is involved with creating a Safer Space for all participants around some sensitive topics, some weeks we will be closing the door no later than 15 minutes after class time - so in other words, try to be on time!

DIY Tax Workshop Ever wanted to learn how to do your own taxes, so you won't have to go to a tax preparer year after year? Don't be afraid of tax returns any more! Come to one or two sessions of this class (or as many as you need). Either bring your tax information with you and work on your own taxes as you learn (all efforts will be made to ensure confidentiality) or, if you prefer, come and learn the basics and then go home and do your own. Class will cover both how to do your taxes by hand on paper AND how to e-file your taxes for free, with a focus on making sure you are claiming all credits you are legally eligible for so as to get the highest possible refund. Even if you are not sure you need to file taxes, find out how to know if you can claim a refund or credit.

If you want to be able to e-file your taxes on the spot or to otherwise work on them with the aid of a computer, please bring a laptop with wireless capability. It is also recommended to bring a calculator of some sort and a pencil.

Please note that the purpose of this class is not to provide professional tax advice or preparation, but only to teach you the basics (as well as a few more advanced topics if applicable) so that you can prepare your own return.

Taught by Owen, who is currently working as a tax preparer.

Location determined with RSVP.

The Mechanics and Lifestyle of Bicycling Each class will focus on a specific skill set, ranging from basic
maintenance and safety to more advanced areas of bicycle mechanics. Topics will include: fixing flats, what to wear and bring with you, deraileur adjustments, brake adjustments, picking the right bike style and size, wheel-truing, self-supported touring and commuting, and anything else students are interested in.

As a knowledgeable and experienced mechanic, Scotty will verbally explain each topic and the essential aspects to be aware of, then physically go through the process and allow attendants to ask questions and try their hands at it, either on their own bike or bikes at our workshop. Typical classes shouldn't last much more than an hour, but could potentially last until 8ish if anyone desires further discussion or practice.

RSVP preferred.
